Melissa and I took a mid week holiday and spent some time in Chicago. It was beautiful,
we went to the Hopper exhibit and stayed at the beautiful Essex Inn.
I take pictures, and sometimes, I talk about them.
I had originally purchased the Ricoh GX100 which really is an awesome camera, it has an amazing 24mm lens and a “snap” mode that is great for street style shooting. What killed me was the 6-8 second RAW write times and inability to adjust the flash output. I want a pocket camera, but I don’t want to loose control. So I went with my original impulse and got the Canon G9 (which I should have went with in the first place, and not spent so much time mulling over the decision). I think I fell for the style of shooting people did with the GX100, more than I did the actual camera. So far, with the exception of the 35mm lens (that I can deal with) and being a tad bulky, I am in love with the G9.

These are a little past due, but who cares? Love Your Bike was a good time, cool stuff in the silent auction (none of which I won). Big ups to the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin for putting it all together, and to the sponsors for donating, Sprecher Brewery did a good job at getting me a bit tipsy.
These are from a set where I combined flat bird art with images I captured with a lens I made from an old Diana camera.

The McCormick House This is where Melissa and I stayed for our wedding. It was by far the best B&B we have ever stayed at. It was beautiful and the service was exceptional.www.mccormickhouseinn.com
